Businesses Concerned About New Mask Mandate

Philadelphia became the first major city to bring back an indoor mask mandate on April 18. The move comes when other states and cities are mostly moving in the other direction.

“It’s a devastating blow for a lot of businesses,” Jabari Jones, president of the West Philadelphia Corridor Collaborative and a board member of A Greater Philadelphia, told the Inquirer. “This announcement is a major blow to thousands of small businesses and other operators in the city who were hoping this spring would be the start of recovery,” added Ben Fileccia, senior director of operations at the Pennsylvania Restaurant and Lodging Association.
