Cooperation Among Government Agencies Reduces Homicides in Chester

The idea that you are either for strong law enforcement or for addressing rehabilitation is a ”false choice.”

“We’re coming with an emphasis on putting people who are violent and are a threat to the safety of the community … behind bars in an aggressive fashion, but also doing so while putting out carrots to the community and bringing people back into the fray, giving them the resources that they need to set their lives on a different path,“ said County Councilman Kevin Madden in the Delco Times.

Chester saw just 80 shooting incidents in 2021, down 34% from the year prior. The city also saw the highest homicide clearance rate (arrests made) in 20 years.
